May 2017: In Dang area of Gujarat, an awareness campaign was organised with the focus on ‘Unorganized Labor Act, 2008’, the relation between ‘Mukardam’ & ‘kamdar’ and all advance money system and interest rate regarding issues. Team also provided help and guidance in I-Card registrations of the farmers. Sugarcane Farm Labour are the newly identified target group by the Dang unit and thus a significant campaign for CSJ.
Further, it helped our team to get a better perspective of community issues concerning their income, primary facility at destination etc. The team was also able to identify positive, enthusiastic youth with the potential to become local leaders for further intervention.
