Our Objectives

The Centre for Social Justice seeks to:

  • Fight injustice and discrimination and to establish the rule of law.
  • Increase awareness and sensitivity to human rights issues amongst its stake-holders.
  • Provide platform to different stake-holders to discuss various human rights issues affecting vulnerable communities such as women, Dalits, tribals, minorities, and others.
  • Improve the quality of legal education at various levels, including local communities, law colleges, as also state bodies such as the state’s police academies and jail training institutes.
  • Provide quality legal services to the vulnerable groups.
  • Link grassroots experiences with policy-level advocacy for law reforms.
  • Create a grassroots oriented network of law centres which have the ability to holistically respond to the human rights violations at the community level.
  • Develop a conceptual base, training methodology and material for human rights training of various kinds.
