Nyayika: Taking justice to the marginalized

nyayikaBased on the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) model, and registered under the Companies Act, 1956, Nyayika (visit website) has been initiated as a chain of multi-specialty law centres offering affordable professional legal services at the grassroots level in a system which believes in the need of accountability and transparency in the practice of law, and is sensitive to the needs of the poor and the vulnerable. Its tagline “Atpatu banave sahelu” indicates the belief in the need to simplify and demystify complicated legal procedures so as to make approaching a court of law and seeking redressal in the legal system less intimidating.

Nyayika offices are situated at Ahwa, Mandvi, Bharuch, Amreli, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Raipur & Bilaspur.

An initiative of IDEAL Foundation for Social and Economic Development, a non-profit company (about IFSED), Nyayika provides legal services to the poor and the vulnerable. Its law centres offer legal services and advice in all types of legal matters, including civil, criminal, revenue, consumer, labour, and charge a fixed fee in order to ensure sustainability of the model. The mission of Nyayika is to make quality legal services available to people from the marginalized sections, particularly Dalits, minorities, tribals and women.

The main motto of Nyayika is to assure quality legal advice and guidance: Each Nyayika law centre has a team of bright lawyers and paralegals who undergo regular training sessions and are updated with the latest developments in the law. The team works with guidance from a panel of expert lawyers in each and every case, thus assuring you the best legal advice and guidance in your matter.

Nyayika is accountable to its clients: Clients are assured of a fixed legal fee payable as per a payment schedule where they are required to pay only when their case moves to the next stage. They are provided with receipts against all payments. Nyayika’s lawyers and paralegals keep its clients informed of all important developments. They put in extra efforts to make sure that clients understand the procedures being followed. They move ahead only with the clients’ consent. All cases are tracked by Nyayika’s central monitoring and information system.

An important feature Nyayika is, if a client is unsatisfied with Nyayika’s services, she or he can register the grievances on its central helpline (+ 91 95865 99966).
